Hey guys, out of boredom I just wanted to share my personal comparison of my 250r against my yfz450r and banshee to anyone who cares. I have always wanted a 250r and I finally bought one in july 2011 and the first time I wook it out, I blew the top and bottom due to a crankshaft failure. So I never really had much saddle time on it and didnt get to experience it fully. Now, I just recently got it up and running again with a new 86 engine bored to 68mm and still I've only had it out probably a total of 8 times. I just want you all to know I'm by no means a professional rider but I have been riding for about 22 years and I've owned everything from a kawasaki bayou to the 1st gen YFZ450, WR450 and I'm on my second banshee not to mention I've been racing motocross on and off since I was 16 and I'm not bragging in any way shape or form, I'm just putting in my resume'. The first thing I noticed and liked about my 250r is the weight, it is and FEELS incredibly light and its so easy to throw around where as the banshee feels heavy and the YFZR feels light but not in the same league as the 250r. The suspension and handling is pretty good, it has 400 ex shocks up front and PEP rear widened out and its comfortable on the MX tracks and good for highspeed trails. The banshee has been upgraded to elkas up front with wide a arms and stocker in the rear with wide axle, the rear is really lacking and doesnt like to jump, it lands like a lumber wagon but the rear elkas are nearly $1,000 so Im holding off on the upgrade. The YFZR has the best suspension and handling of the 3 its really amazing and if you ever get the chance to ride one on MX, try it out! The power of the 250r is quite impressive, I find my front end up in the sky all the time and it'll really stretch your arms out which impressed me a lot, it pulls ok on bottom and great in mid range and top it has 68mm bore, dynoport pipe with fmf silencer, oversized carb and intake (not sure what size exactly) the YFZR is more mild even with a open airbox lid 12.4:1 piston and MSD tuner and hmf sport series slip on but still rips decent and pulls hard from top to bottom , the banshee takes the cake on power even though the bottom end is weak, the mid range is super strong and top end is great with just toomey t-6 and open airbox lid. I find myself wanting to ride the 250r more and more. They are all great quads with different personalities, strong in different areas and lacking in different areas but this is one of the many things that keeps me intrigued in this sport. I hope you all enjoyed my mini evaluation and If I missed something please let me know! I leave you with this quote "out of the corner, on the gas, front tires in the air, haulin ass!"

I haved owned a 88 TRX250R that I bought used, a 04 YFZ and a 00 Banshee both of which I bought brand new. Those quads are all long gone, I currently own a 89 TRX250R and a 00 Banshee. In stock form the YFZ is by far the best handling of the three. Although, with my current setup on my 89 TRX250R, it handles much better than the stock YFZ but I have several thousands of dollars into Custom Axis shocks and +3 longtravel a-arms etc. Like you I also liked the Banshee's power the best, the Banshee engine is a monster. I raced MX on my first 00 Banshee, I always got the holeshot or was very close, it handled terrible but I would pull on everyone in the straights. Hopefully after I install my ported Pro-X 330 I will have a different opinion. I can't even describe how much I hated my 04 YFZ's engine and everything about it. It ran super hot, the pipe would glow red right off the showroom floor, power was not that impresive and I was always having problems with it. I'm sure they have improved it a lot over the years and I'm sure the addition of fuel injection helps. Bottom like I loved the YFZ's handling and looks, hated the 4 stroke engine and everthing about it. Just the opposite with the Banshee, loved the engine, hated the handling. The TRX in stock form was somewhere in the middle and I would consider it the best overall. Heavily modified and build just for me, the TRX250R is my dream quad, the power was lacking for me so I'm hoping the ported Pro-X 330 will make it the perfect quad for me.

I had a shee I sold a few months ago that had hjr Oem ported jugs mid/top, mikuni 28mm flat slides, 20cc domes, rad valves, t5's, ext arms/axle. Bike ran fantastic, pulled hard even off the bottom, really good in trails even. Handled like crap even widened. When I want to go super fast in a straight line I'll hop on my boys cub. I'd take a R over a shee any day except for he dunes(never rode any), or drag strip. Flat track is debatable. I've owned a kfx450R, should be called a kfx450x! Rode my buddies built yfz450, can't stand the 4 stroke power(he's fast on it though).

I have no use for any of that but if you are having trouble getting rid of your parts, I would suggest ebay. I have put several of my spare banshee parts on there and the usually go like hot cakes! And they were all OEM. I just go on there and search what I'm about to post and get an idea of what its worth then try to sell it for 5 or 10 dollars less than the going rate and i'd say I've sold %90 of the parts I've posted.

If you're talking about the ones that look like trail tech the bulbs when used st the same time draw too much power. I had some on my banshee and when you unplug one light the other would get way brighter. TRX has like 5 more watts to each bulb don't think that wĂ´uld power them completely though. The correct watt bulbs are cheap and online, youll get more light.
