I am wanting to know how much to sell my 86 trx 250r engine for. Cosmetically its almost perfect and the bottom end is good but the top end has a cracked crank. It was used for mini sprint racing so has aftermarket parts. And the clutch is still inside. I aslo have engine with no problems used for mini sprint racing with no hours on pro rebuild also in amazing condition. Looking to know what they are worth thanks.

Not to knock any one down but i was trying to get info on this and hes a newbie as evidence shows and would not work with me for pics or even a clear explanation. He does not have 86 engines they are microsprint cr hybrids from ftz the 88-91 style but like he said on has a bad connecting rod and cylinder meaning its a parts engine at best the other seems to be in good shape from the pics. For the record my experience with tharrison365 was not not a savory one due to his inexperience but i thought i would clear things up on what he has so he may have a chance of a sale. I think this is better than venting my frustration. Good luck

wes this was a different engine then what was sold to darrel. so maybe you should get your facts straight before you run your mouth. I have always sent pics to people who ask for them. Not everyone has a computer so they can post pics some people have to text them or email them off of their cell phone because they dont have a computer to post pics on since you cant do it on a cell phone
Really? Re-read your first post how you talk about it being "almost cosmetically perfect" on the first motor then after talking about the second motor you state "also in amazing condition" which could be taken as both motors are in amazing condition.
Here in florida i can get motors for $300/$400

perdy, i have one just like it on the way never fired !this my friend is a "almost cosmeticly perfect" motor that I have sitting on the shelf that is brand new take out from a 86 ATC back in 87 when Honda disassembled them.

SoCal engine prices are all over the place. Prestine engines like rsss396 posted are top dollar at $750 to $1000. Lower end engines with minor damage like broken lower case saver go for $400 to $500. Wasted engines with major case damage or bosted top ends go for $250 to $350...these prices are all private party, not through eBay, FYI

if you can find new take out 86 trike motors for 750-1000 you better be buying them up as fast as you can if they are in the same shape as mine.
The lowest I have sold one was for $1700 they are still out there for sure but the average person that have them are not dumb enough to give them away. 750-1000 was prices you could find them 5-10 years ago in the same condition as mine
