I have a 87 250r that I am restoring. I am wanting to go with the shorter 88-89 swingarm. Will it bolt up? Will my 87 linkage and rear shock work? Thanks

It will bolt up and everything will work, only issue the 'H' bracket that bolts to the rear of the Engine on 85-87 250R's, can't be used, and the Engine needs at least one rear engine bolt to assemble in place.

Couple of options:
Cut 88/89 swingarm at pivot bolt are like 85-87, use 'H' bracket.
Weld rear engine mount to 86-87 TRX250R frame like 88-89

88/89 length with billet carrier and brake stay

check lsr. check ebay. call bdt. they sell -1, -2 86/87. same swingarm as 88/89.

As Matuus stated; LSR makes very nice -1" to -3" MX Swing-Arms for 86-87 & 88-89 TRX250R & ATC250R 85-86 for a reasonable price out of Molly.
