need a little help. have an 88r with esr 330 kit on top of a 4mil, 39mm carb. it doesn't even try to start when it is cold. pull start it and it runs great even starts right up first kick after it has been running. also feels like it spudders out in 2and3 gear when it reaches high rpm but 4,5,6 it feels great. all kinds of power. has v force with carbon fiber reeds and they look good. what can make it do this

What's your jet sizes and air screw? I have same exact setup. 178main 50pilot 3rd clip on dgh needle. But I have a cr ignition which helps cold starts.

What's your compression gauge telling you lately?

my compression is just under 200 and my main jet is 195 i dont remember what pilot i put in.

i just put the flat slide on. i had a lectron before and burned up the piston without even going through one tank of fuel when i put the esr cylinder on. there was scarring on the piston all the way around, almost like esr didnt hone the cylinder enough. piston was tight. now did the motor again when i put the carb on. already replaced pick up coil and have a little issue. the bike wont even run with wires green to green and black to black, reverse them and it runs.
