I mean, people are signing up and replying to this thread as their 1st post? B)This still hasn't fully played out in court. That said, the charges have become MUCH more serious than I had first anticipated. I appeared in court this morning (I face multiple charges stemming from this incident) and court was set over until the 28th.
As of now I may end up with punishment of losing the quad, 12 months probation, minimum 2000 dollar fine & suspended drivers licence for 12 months.
Moral of the story - no matter how fun, do not run from the police. (and crash and get caught)

daaamn.... Sorry to hear that. Thought i had it bad. long story short Last month got stopped while going around the block on my buddies sons little 50cc quad. I was on it a total of 15 seconds when the cheif saw me come around corner and hit the lights. Tried to explanin to him i was just taking for a quick test ride because i want to get my son one ... didnt want to hear it. Said he was sick of all the complaints in the area. Got me for no registration and insurance (*new law in ohio only a week or so prior to this) and prohibited vehicle on roadway. So go to court judge takes my lisence and give $550 in fines. I got an atty. and appealed it still waiting the outcome. Bad thing is here the cops used to wave to us when we rode on the roads to get from trail to trail. Now all the states and cities are hurting for money so taking it out on the "little guys". I tried to be a nice guy and stop which i usally dont lol wont happen again.

Along with the new laws in Ohio every APV (all purpose vehicle) must have tags along with the registration. The only vehicles exempt are golf carts. The bad thing is you can't drive it on the road even with the tags. It's a way for the state to generate money at our expense which I think is b.s. In order for me to get tags for an 86 w/o title I have to buy inspection paperwork, take it to state patrol outpost and have inspected and then finally I'll be able to spend my hard earned money on the tags. It'll be a while if ever before I buy tags for a four wheeler.
On a good note I'm glad you got your quad back saul. Did you have to show a title or bill of sale?

i have to agree if you want something you should have to work for it and if you take something someone else worked for well your pretty much a scum bag
I just got the helmet, goggles and camera back! Plugged the gopro into my PC fully expecting all the files to be erased - hell it was police evidence. And yup - everything was gone!!
