Hey guys, I've got another question. The next thing on my list for my build is a-arms. My question is whether or not to go + forward. I'm hoping to find some used plus 3's or 2's. I'll be running 4:1 wheels. Can someone tell me the advantages of the forward arms. I have a stock length 87 swingarm if that matters. I would like to go to an 88-89 length but the line for the budget has to be drawn somewhere. I'm planning to run this bike as a beginner on the mx track this summer.

Brian,
If I remember correctly, the forward a-arms are usually just for the 86 year frame geometry. It extends the wheelbase and moves the wheels forward on the frame to make it the same as the 88-89 year frame. (I don't remember where the 87 fits into the mix) So unless that pertains to you, you don't really need the +1 forward arms. As far as the extended lengths, both will be good for mx. If you run the +3's, you will have to run the 4:1 wheels to remain legal at 50" for mx. This will also help reduce bump steer using these wheels. If you get the +2's, you have a little more play with wheel offset. IMO for mx, I like to go as wide as possible and still remain legal. Either will work great for you though for mx. Just make sure your shocks are set up for the extended length you use.
