My engine has a noise in it sounds like a tapping sound it goes up with rpm but kinda fades out because its goin faster but at an idle it sounds the loudest, i did the screw driver test and on the water pump cover / just above it is where its making the loudest soud from also checked the cyclinder and other engine case and u can hear the noise but its not as loud , could it just be the counter balancer or water pump bearings ? Also when i put the screw driver on the head u can here a tapping like the pistons is slapping the top of the head its not very loud but its there , any ideas ?

No real experienced in this but I do know if you take off the clutch side you can check the counter balencer by seeing if it wiggles excessively. It can cause most of what ur describing. It can also cause lots f damage to include busting ur case
Thanx , so i can just pull off the cover an if it moves it needs to be replaced , its the loudest on the water pump side right at the cover i checked both engine cases for noise an they was pretty much the same a little noisey around the kick starter but i think thats normal but put the screw driver on the cover of the water pump and its crazy loud
Yep the counter balencer is in that area. You don't need to unhook any of the water stuff. It will just lift right up. It should wiggle pretty good if it is bad.
