Looking at another R. Motor is claimed to be a 310 by CT. Has the ct midrange pipe, 38 pwk. Wondering how this bike should run. Never owned a 250 ported by ct. They did some work on a raptor motor of mine and did a piss poor job. I'd go take it for a rip but I'm a few hours away.

I had a CT motor in my 86 ATC250r & the motor was excellent it was just a stock jug that Alan knowles ported and put a 4 mil stroke on -this motor absolutely ripped. I have heard that Alan no longer actually does the engine work himself any more & that he has other guys doing the port work. I have also heard that the quality has dropped off over the last 10 years. All I do know for a fact is that the CT engine that I use to have was the best non big bore motor that I have ever owned. I was able to beat alot of 330's with that motor. I WISH I STILL HAD THAT MOTOR!

I have an aluminum sleeved 265 pv that says ct on the side that is from about 2000. It runs real strong.

Thats also my understanding. Alan has other employees now that do the port work. I cant say 100% if this is true though. I can say that in the good old R days, when Alan worked on the R's himself he was a great tuner/builder. I do run a CT National midrange exhaust on one of my woods R, and it runs excellent low-mid. Real smooth power.

I'm surprised Allen didn't put longer studs in that motor if he actually built it. It looks like the base nuts are hanging on by a few threads. Just sayin...

That spacer plate looks mighty thick as well. You sure it's a 310?

My buddy had Allen build him a CT350 PV motor for his ATC. And to be honest, that motor didnt impress me at all.

I don't know if it is or not. The current owner really doesn't know anything about it. Might shoot an offer and hope for the best. It has some decent arms and swinger on it. Not sure what aftermarket plastic is on it but it looks like crap.

when i see stuff like them base nuts that are barely hanging on by 2 threads and tightened by vice grips, it makes me wonder what else they half assed. no way in hell i would buy it without a first hand closer look.

clutch cable is installed incorrectly. there is a reason for 2 nuts.

Expect the worst. CT may of ported that cyl but there is no way they did that current install.

One thing about it, if the price is right, would at least be some good parts to have on hand when you are ready to build up a 250R.
