On the BDT CDI for 86-87 and 88-89 250R’s, clarity needs to be made since one ‘Hater’ has accused BDT of claiming these CDI’s are a Honda direct product, they are not....and BDT has never claimed they are 100% a Honda OEM product.
Yes, this is the 'crap' BDT has to deal with for providing a much needed product to the 250R community.

The BDT ATC/TRX250R 86-87 & 88-89 CDI's are made in Japan exclusively for BDT, I can't say they are OEM, as they are not, however; they are as close to OEM Function & Performance as you can get....basically the same electronics internally since Honda does not own the IP to the CDI internal components, Shindengen owns everything internally, Honda owns the Overall design of the CDI. Meaning; Shindengen can make the CDI to function the same as the original OEM (and they have for BDT) without violating Honda’s rights if BDT does not claim they are OEM, place OEM markings or any Honda label(s).

BDT 100% Guarantee; if you purchase the BDT CDI and it does not function like a new OEM CDI, return for a full refund. To date; everyone that has tested one of the BDT CDI’s loves them, claims NO kick back and equal performance to OEM.

nice.cant believe all the time carlos spends talking to manufacturers to keep us going with new parts for our R's!!
Agreed. It’s bad ass. I don’t need lighting coils lots of options for battery lights theses days. I am interested in the flywheel weight though.
The Honda OEM CR250R BDT Hybrid 04-07 like Idaho_R_quads has is one awesome quality Ignition....!

Unfortunately, Honda has discontinued all CR250R IGN’s. NO more 2001 (2-3 years ago), and in the last 4-5 months has stopped making & discontinued every year from 2002 through 2007 as well.

Knowing this was coming, and the need for the very best 250R IGN’s, BDT teamed up with various individuals to develop a CR250R IGN to fill in the gap Honda has created.

The Plus:

  • The BDT CR250R IGN’s use the same exact programed 2001 CDI Curve, using a ‘Vortex’ type CDI specifically programmed for the ATC/TRX250R 85-89.
  • The BDT Stator is setup the same as the OEM Honda CR250R 2001 Stator, except with added 100Watt separate Lighting Coils built in….can you say ‘Lights’? Both Conventional & LED, plug in ready.
  • Honda CR250R OEM Coil, Wire and NGK Boot
  • Optional Rectifier/Regulator for 100W Lighting
  • CR250R 2001 Flywheel Layout & Type…Plus added 360 grams of weight
  • Built in RPM Wire for Plug and Play accurate Tack Reading
  • Special BDT Billet Adapter Plate specially designed & manufactured for the BDT CR250R IGN with two sets of Stator location holes allowing variable Advanced Timing up to 8 degrees and variable to minus 14 degrees.
  • Plug and Play system; allows use of OEM ON/OFF switch or Kill Switch
  • Complete BDT IGN System Cost (Lighted Stator, Weighted Flywheel, Pre-Programed 01 CDI, OEM CR250R Coil, Wire, NGK Boot, BDT Billet Adapter Plate and full schematic-instructions: $899.98
  • EXCLUSIVE to BDT Motorsports ONLY.
