Good luck... All250R is a member that is having some reproductions made as the originals are now discontinued...

He also has a forum by the same name.

I have two spare boots. How can I tell if it's an 86'?

Willing to sell either one, both in good shape.

Kyle
The 86 doesn't have a hole in the middle on the side and the 87-89 does.

what he means is the 86 has NO resinator ,thats why the "hole " is there

Hole or no hole it's the same boot. As time goes on there will be fewer and fewer. Just plug the hole on the later model years if you don't want that supid resonator on there. Its was set up for deep sea diving if you did not allready know!

Hard to believe how important having a "flexible" air boot really is. On my '86 rehab project the boot seems to have shrunk and hardened since it was removed. I'm hoping several minutes in boiling water will soften it up...had a b_tch of a time trying (unsuccesfully) to install it the other night.

yup its important ,..boiling water will help to get it installed ..but the flexibilty will be short lived..when it cools off the softness & flex will cease also ,try to install it quickly

& since some beleive it was made for deep sea diving it shouldn't be allergic to the water
