THat reminds me, when I did a works race a couple years ago, they were doing noise checks. They checked the silencer out the end and it was only 94 db. Then, just for kicks they held it up to the expansion chamber. Those little monkeys tinking away were making 101 db! Would you call that a good match pipe?

I have both styles and cannot honestly tell the difference on my "ass dyno" if ya know what I mean :p .

The ONLY thing I noticed for sure is the centermount will run 5 to 10 degrees cooler at WOT when held for an extended amount of time. Why is this, I would not know how to explain  .

Is that 5 to 10 degrees water temp or EGT?

here is a good sounding pipe vid c ,was testing e85 with it tuned in correct, the pipe temp drooped 200 deg. i was changing the pip length to bring the pipes rpm back to where it needed to be . just a few 1,2,3 gear 300ft pulls on a small cc r .it was spinning its but off in that sand lol 265r e85 testing (btw) you may need to turn the volume up by the slide on the player the sounds not that loud turn up the sound and Let that sweet 2 stroke music play lol
