That’s the size cylinder I run with the 5mm crank. Was that water inlet relocated for better cooling features or for clearance? FWIW my ESR 420 runs at 150-180* consistently! It has yet to over heat on me.

 

Lotta ppl saying the exhaust will be a issue with the water inlet right there. I'm wanting this set up

 

Pipe clearance would be something to confirm for sure. We will see when these come out and start getting used.

 

i'm sure eddie did not just relocate with out thinking about the pipe.

 

If used on a drag engine, wouldnt be any issues because of pipe location. With the PV valve though, it could be used for other types of racing. Surly though, there must be a new pipe coming out just for that cylinder if used for anything other than drag.

I like the 81 MM, nice option of a 81MM bore CEO, good to see the added casting height & longer rear two studs just Like the CP Industry Sphynx, Lynx, Puma and Saber cylinders; don't care for fresh coolant inlet directly into exhaust.

Development takes different paths; right ones as well as wrong ones...Without being negative, and understanding the thought behind fresh coolant into the exhaust track, in very simply 'layman' terms; IMO NOT A GOOD IDEA. Realizing manufactures have over many years tried this very concept and always moved away from it. Good engineering & functional reasons why coolant is first introduced into a cylinder on the intake side (coldest side of cylinder) and not on the (hottest part of cylinder) exhaust side.

Agreed. Like over twenty years time, on this cylinder design. He deserves a lot of credit.
