Just as the topic states, would a elka 400ex shock fit a trx250r?

Has this been answered I have a pep zps 400ex shock that I was told it came off a 250r. The top fits but the bottom hole is to small not sure if I should use drill press and make it fit or not. Also from what I know the 400ex shock is shorter but my stock r shock and this shock are same eye to eye? help
