Hey, new to the forum and just bought my first 250r that is still stock. I am looking to get an ESR pipe but not sure which to go with. I am looking to build mostly for the dunes. Eventually get into the esr kits but want a good pipe for now and when I do get into bigger bores. Also is the esr silencer a good choice as well? Thanks

I'm going to guess that my ATC5 pipe would be similar to the TRX5 pipe here... I really like mine.

Only thing I would have done different if I could would be to order the pipe unfinished and get it ceramic coated somewhere. They had no unfinished pipes in stock when I ordered mine. The chrome plating on my pipe has just begun to start peeling in 2 small areas. I have about 6 hours ride time on that pipe.

etccb!!!!!! no i verry happy with my lrd pipe just saying the post above mine, dude only has 6 hrs on pipe what a piece of crap...
Well, it was an issue I was aware of going into it. I tried to order one unfinished so I could send it to Dynoport and get it ceramic coated but they had no unfinished pipes on hand. Ceramic looks almost as good as chrome but is wolrds tougher than anybodies chrome plating. If anything can hold up to all of the rocks and junk kicked onto the pipe by the front tire of a trike ceramic can. And if ceramic won't hold up to it, nothing will. Pipes get beat up pretty good on a trike if you ride in any kind of gravel at all.

My pipe options are much more limited being that I have an ATC. I based my decision on alot of advise from knowledgeable people running big bores in ATC's and the ATC5 pipe is tough to beat this side of a custom built pipe.

All of that said and the plating starting to peel aside, I'm very happy with the performance and fitment of my ESR exhaust system...

Just wanted to clarify a little bit.. ;)

Do you have sound restrictions at SL ?

If no i got a trx5 center mount n silencer forsale

Yeah the sound restriction is 96 dbs I believe.
The TRX5 is a good choice, as well as the TRX9 (quite a few members like the 9), or if the budget allows, or look at the CPI or LED pipes...both are more money, however; much better quality than the TRX5 or 9. If you are going to be held to 96 Db's or less, the TRX5 or 9 Muffler will not meet the 96 Db or less level.

Member Pantera1975 (Jeff) has been working on a Muffler to meet the restrictive Db requierements of his State (<94 or 96 Db if I recall correctly)...contact jeff for information.

So what are the differences between the trx5 and trx9? And when I look at the LED website the pipe is for 330-350 bores. So would they custom build one for me and would it still work for my future build?

TRX5 is an all around pipe smooth transistion similar to a mellow fourstroke style pipe. it makes the same power as other pipes but its just smooth.

trx9 hits like a 2 stroke rev pipe makes similar horsepower but you really feel the difference, some people like this others dont because it can wear you out if your just trying to ride smooth/soft trail ride.

LED makes custom pipes for any application if you want your gonna be into an LED pipe with silencer, chrome and headpipe for 700$ they are nice for sure

I recently purchased a trx 5 standard mount, it performs great on my 265. ESR didn't have any unplated ones in stock, but I took it to a chromer anyway. He said his chrome is still at the mercy of the base layer of nickel, it looks great and hopefully will last.
