Hello Folks, thought I would share some progress photos and start a thread on my Speed Energy 250R build. I worked for Robby Gordon and his dad for several years, and still have regular contact with them as they live down the steet from me. So we decided it would be fun to build a 250R themed after Robby's race vehicles with the orange theme. Things have gotten off to a relatively slow start, but the bike is basically together, put a new ESR 380 stroker motor in it, and just got the wheels and other parts back from powdercoat. Still waiting on Quad Tech to finish the Hump seat, Fullbore to finish the Orange fenders (he said this week), and chromer to finish the LED pipe and a few other things I had Chromed.

Here is the theme we are going for:

Is that the kit or did you use new foam? just curious looks really nice and i like how its set up to keep you more forward on the seat.

This was custom made by Bill at Quad Tech, he used the standard 88/89 foam, and worked his magic. He shaved part of it and added foam for the hump. I am trying to get him to do a run of about 50 or so of this style of foam, so he can build these seats and sell them through the dirt factory.

Robby is the man, I've been a fan and supporter for a long time. Dad and I went on his 2004 'Double Duty Tour' and had a great time. We go to the Glen every year and Rob stopped over to our camp site one year, he is great to his fans, he always remembers my name...how many NASCRAP drivers could you say that about? Its tough to get Speed Energy in NY so I've been ordering it from his website, I hope he gets it off the ground because it truly is a great drink. I love the idea, looks awesome!

Yes, people either love or hate Robby. I know plenty that are on the latter side, and plenty of professional drivers are not fond of Robby's driving style. He was absolutley despised in his early years, as he was a 'little' out of control. I still say he is one of the best drivers out there, and put him in an off road car that does not break and NO ONE will beat him. As for Speed Energy, I am not a huge fan, but I am not a huge fan of any of the energy drinks. They all have way too much sugar and they are terrible for you IMO. And then you see kids sucking down buckets of Monster Energy......good lord, Coca Cola was enough to make me crazy in grade school. I see my workers substituting these energy drinks for water and that is the result of all thei glorious advertising! And here I am with SPEED ENERGY plastered all over the side of my quad!! LOL.....
