i have a bottom end that got sand in it.(not while riding. motor has not been ran with sand in it.) so i now need to split the cases and clean everything. aside from the gaskets, are there any other parts that need replaced. the motor only had 4 rides on it since rebuilt. any tricks to get it apart? aside from needing a flywheel puller.
should i just seal up cases with the gasket, or silicon and gasket?
thanks guys.

id buy all new gaskets. Other than that, i would be exteremly careful when pulling the cases apart as far as prying. You dont want to damage the cases sealing surfaces. Once all the bolts are out you can use a soft hammer on the crank and sprocket shafts while supporting the left case half to push them apart.

I would replace all seals and gaskets. Use ThreeBond or Silicone as needed, specially for surface Inperfections, and as Burns aka Kyle stated, be careful splitting case halfs apart.
