I really need to get this sprocket hub off of here before I install my new motor. It's pretty worn. My husband and I have tried 3 different times to get this monster off of here. The snap ring is at least 3 times the size of the one on my 88 which I have never had trouble removing. We've tried everything we can thing of from specialized heavy duty snap ring pliers to the old hammer and screw driver. My concern is that we're going to mess up the splines on the axle trying to get the ring off.

Also does anyone know where I can get another snap ring if this one gets messed up?

Thanks, Aletha aka Breezy

Do you have the axle loose so you can move the hub away from the ring? From the picture it looks like there is pressure on the ring. Are you trying to take it off like it is in the picture?
Hmmmm....now that you mention it, I'm not sure. I never had to loosen the axle with my 88 so we might not have loosened it. We're going to try to get it off of there again this weekend.

Ok thanks everyone :)

The axle on my 88 is a Lonestar, I can take a pair of needle nose pliers and and get the snap ring off of it myself. However the snap ring on the 88 is maybe 1/3 as thick as the one on the Durablue.
