maybe they sent u a high compression piston wen u bought it

 

On a plus 4 MM stroker or plus 5 MM, it is normal for the piston to come above the deck at TDC. We normally set our storkers with a +.080/2MM above deck. Your shell and dome should be cut to compensate for the piston being above deck. Again, this is normal with a 3/16" spacer plate and in some cases with a 1/4" spacer plate as well.

Are you sure its hitting??? I just fired up my ESR 350pv and did 3 heat cycles and I have no issues. Heres what mine looked like before my head went on.

You can measure piston deck height at the edges using feeler gauges, and measure your dome step depth with the blade on Calipers or a Depth mike. Then you can determine if you have the proper squish clearnce Between the piston and dome at TDC.

Post a good clear pic, of the head dome so we can see how deep it is machined.
Looks like he has at least a 6 or 7mm spacer plate, so it could be a +5 stroker, but get that pic up of the dome.

Was wondering how you made out with this. Was the piston hitting the head or did you just assume it was because of it being above the deck??

 

i am assuming that you bored the cylinder to the next size up the dome has to be cut for the next size up piston because the piston is supposed to go up inside the dome on stroker

 

the motor was bought without the head on it and when he went to assemble it the piston was hitting the head. the seller didnt to tell him it was a 330 bored to a 370 just said it was one.

 

It was a 330 cylinder bored to a 78mm so the dome was the wrong size for the piston. He got a new dome from esr and got it running now.

 

Well at least the problem was solved. Good info also as I never thought about the dome having to be cut along with being bored out. Probably would have happened to me on my next bore. Learn something new here every day
