Is anyone running the new ESR cylinders....I'm looking into upgrading sometime this year....got a buddy running the old pro x ESR 370+5mm stroker crank...and quad straight rips.....and was wondering if there new cylinders are any good vs the pro x....I was out at the dunes last week with my completely stock 86R and getting smoked....well nobodys really running stock setups anymore...I'm thinking 350 with 4mm stroker setup........any info would be appreciated.... The new and old castings are basicly copies of the a Honda 85 to 86 cylinder, the intake being almost identical. The bridged intake on the Honda cylinders came in 87 to 89 models.,..and yes these are IMO the better cylinders with the better intake design, much more support for the piston and rings.
The CP Industries Sphynx, Puma and Saber employ the bridged intake providing much needed piston and ring support. Unfortunately, the ESR & ProX cylinders do not.
