Thank you... yes I guess it would help to be more specific lol... I am actually a little confused on what I want to do.. my riding consists of mostly trails and an occasional trip to little Sahara. I just know I want to get my r back into shape without dumping thousands into it... so I am open to aNy suggestions I would like to have +2 a arms and decent suspension and enough hp to keep up with the 450s but didnt know how much money it would take to do that. I figured you gurs would be able fo steer me straight.. thanks for the help

 

As far as now I don't know internal engine mods but reeds and exhaust and k &n are what I can tell stock suspension and a arms

 

i would imagine that you would have to spend atleast a few thousand.. arms and shocks are not cheap. best route would definetely to buy used.

 

I have looked at elka fox and a few others I want good suspension but don't really need anything to crazy I'm not racing or anything. I just want a decent ride that soaks up bumps

 

Got 450r shocks on it now? Not happy with those? Shocks are expensive but plenty people on hear will cut you a good deal.

 

I beleive they are stock but not 100% any easy way to tell?

Stock 250r shocks don't have reservoirs. Looks like 450r's

 

I'd suggest getting an airbox, pod filters are only safe in really clean situations and can cause tuning hassles.

 

Oh thought they looked new.. I may have them revalved they ride a little rough I may have the rear dome also any good companies?

 

need better pics of the front shocks not stock 250r but also dont look like 450r they never came yellow, id guess z400 shocks or ohlins

Amd about the airbox it seems a lot of people run this setup is it reasonable to buy stock air box stuff?

 

Pods are OK in the sand, for drags, ice racing, road racing and maybe a TT if the track is watered well, but for anything actually dirty they're no good. I've never done that to a 250R, but on RZ350s (a streetbike with basically a Banshee motor) when you switch to pods (or a Y-boot like mine has) you take out your 230 mainjets and put in 420s! It's possible to nail the tune, but to do it you gotta mess with a bunch of needles and clip positions and fiddle with the airscrew all the time. A 250R is probably a little more forgiving, but not much. On the RZ, the huge mainjet kills your gas mileage, down 10-mpg at least with no extra power whatsoever; guys have tried and the RZ airbox is much more closed than a 250R one with no lid.

I'm sure airboxes come up for sale here quite often as people put on aluminum ones and do whatever else.

 

yeah i shud've known by the way res was turned that they weren't 450r's
