I need help asap! One night my buddies and I were going to ride at night so I was in need of a light. One of the guys had a light that came off an 86-87 so he let me borrow it. Well as we got down to wiring, we cut some wires from the kill switch to see which one had power and which one was the ground. As soon as we found out we hooked up the light we tried starting it. Well after a few kicks the 250r wasn't starting just turning over while the light lit up with each kick. We figured it some how maybe taking away too much juice so we took it off and re-wired the kill switch. We got it running immediatly so we just shut it off and put it away since we could no longer do a bit of night riding. I took it out the next day so I can go for a ride. As soon as I took off, it started bogging and had no top end at all what so ever. Well I got down the street and it died out on me. I finally got it to start and when I took off, I took off in REVERSE!!! I was like wth is going on here. I turned it off and turned it back on a couple of times and it kept doing it. Well I finally got it to go forward so I took it back home even though it was still bogging bad. When i got home I tore down the carb and cleaned it. After cleaning it I turned it on but it was still bogging and even went in reverse once again. Does anybody have any clue where I went wrong??? I was thinking I might have messed up the wiring, maybe that's why it was bogging down but reverse? Anyways sorry for the long story just wanted to make sure I included every detail I could so I can get some help. Any input welcome. Thanks in advance!
