Counter shaft seal in too far??

The manual does specify a depth of 6mm for the crank seal on the mag side, but it doesn't say anything about the counter shaft seal. Guess we are dealing with a 25 year old manual, because that should be mentioned if the crank seal depth is.

Flush is the unwritten rule for most seals. The mag side crank seal has to go in to 6mm because the stator plate locates/centers in that same bore.:)
