Gentlemen-

Got the 88 R out and have been working the bugs out... I've had it a few years but it has had bogging issues, so it has sat mainly... Anyway, I put a new clutch in it, the old one was slightly worn and had a little burnt smell, so I replaced with EBC. I used the existing steels as they were in Spec still. Anyway, it runs through the gears fine and shifts well, however, I had to adjust quite a bit to get to the proper setting, and to me the arm position to engage seems pretty far in IMO??? what do you guys think??? its an 88 motor with the 89 needle bearing setup. basket and all internals looked fine although I did not remove the rod to inspect, I simply just changed the clutch and didn't touch anything else.... I don't believe the clutch arm was this far in previously, but I could be wrong.... let me know if you think ok, or if something needs looked at. Thanks in advance!!

Thanks for the feedback guys, much appreciated! I am motivated, and frankly addicted to this thing now that the performance is getting where it needs to be...I'll take your advise Carlos and American Opel and use a thicker washer to get the clutch arm dialed in. Quick question. This bike is the only 310r I've ever ridden, I have a banshee that has Toomey T5's and 28mm carbs and stock otherwise. My banshee runs very well and hauls balls with a pretty good hit in the powerband... Should my 310R performance wise be comporable or better? I know there are a lot of factors, but what do you guys think relatively?

Twin cylinder engines like Banshee's always have the advantage vs single cylinder engines like the 250r even if both are of equal displacement. With that said; BDT has built a lot of Pro Ported & Flowed 250R's from 265CC to 370CC that have spanked quite a few Banshee's.

Your 310 can be made to run very strong, however; if you run into a banshee fully Pro Ported & Flowed, Pipe, carb, reeds, ect...chances are it will take a very healthy 363/370CC to outrun the Banshee. Again; twin cylinders have the upper hand, specially in a straigh line/Drag application.
