Broke a ring yesterday in my ESR 310 cylinder. Need to have it bored over to the next size. Anyone know what BDT charges for a top end bore/ hone/ piston kit?

Dont know about them but my local guy charges me $20 to bore, hone and fit to size of the piston. He does all the cylinders for the local dealerships, and independents. May want to check local, shipping would a minimum of $12 each way. May also want to call Esr, maybe they will cut you a deal since its an Esr cyl?. Not trying to derail, just giving you a few other options to help keep the cost down.

I highly doubt BDT would charge members of .net the same price you see on eBay, but I could be wrong. That is why it is best to contact them directly or ask here on the forums since it's not too hard to get an answer from them.

I will be sending cylinder out. I want a great job. There may be someone locally near me to do it cheaper but its not worth saving $60.00 and taking a chance. It's either going to Carlos or Kevin herr. Sending it to someone who knows these bikes and these cylinders is important to me. Thx guys.
That's a great outlook. Besides, you usually get what you pay for.

Thats funny they had no problem charging me full price for my cr ignition a few months back, even though I mentioned repetedly on the phone I was a meber of the .net site...

Jerry hall is great. But my preference right now is Bdt or herr jugs racing. Kevin's done work on my banshee and all probably end up sending him my 310 jug. His turn around is quick and prices are good for the quality that is produced. Was curious about BDT. Carlos seems like a great guy and would be willing to give him a shot depending on turnaround time and price.

Glad to give you the breakdown. When we bore cylinders, we don't just bore, we find the true center of the sleeve, we indicate to the true center, then bore. While still in the same undisturbed setup while on the machine, we take a clean up cut of the top & bottom of the cylinder. This insures the new bore is not only centered, it also insures the new bore is perpendicular to the top & bottom of your cylinder. This is the only true way to have a perfectly centered bore residing perfectly perpendicular & flat within the cylinder. We also radius all port edges and final hone. Anyone who has seen our bore/hone/ cylinder work can attest to what I stated, and the quality of work received. If you use BDTM, and you are not 100% satisfied that what you received from us is not the very BEST work you can purchase, I will personally refund your money. PM sent...Carlos

CR250R IGN's have no discount attached to them. 89LongRod; if you have a complain or unhappy with our products or services, please call me, you got my cell. If you want a full refund on the CR250R IGN (as long as it is still new & unused) return it for a full refund. Lot's of folks are more than happy we make these available to the 250R community since NO one else does. Carlos

Fact. Carlos has always had and always will have his own wallet as his priority. You guys who think he all about helping are confused. Just this week he talked a buyer out of buying a product off me that was hundreds less than you'll see him selling the same part. Now he'll come on a deny it, that's okay. Do your think Carlos contribute all you want but don't act like you're the peoples person.

Let's not "believe", let's get our facts straight. If someone calls me and solicits my opinion, asking if $325 is a good price for damaged cases, and how much to repair the damage, I will give him my opinion, just as he asked. I am very consistent on questions folks ask me in reference to cases...I can assure you if he asked if a set of cases with NO damage were worth $325 shipped, I would have said YES. I more than likely told him not to spend more than $200 on damaged cases, with the damage he described. I also talk to a lot of folks that call BDTM with questions looking for an opinion, I don't recall the details of the call, that is why I said "let's hear it from the buyer....Carlos

Carlos rebored, honed, and polished my cylinder, he also polished head machined, squared all gasket surfaces, and included wossner piston. Work was so good I wanted to keep in my office to display my jewelry finish and workmanship. As much as I have to admit to you downers that engine is still alive and well and running.

I don't know who you are referring to as downers, but I would really like to see the pricing for what sounds like a great service .If you are an honest bussinessman you should be able to publicly show your prices. The fact that he wont do so, leads me to believe that he is not honest

here are the 250R heads Carlos has redone for me as well. And I am more than happy to pay what he has charged me very competitive pricing with machine shops here in Phx and Mesa Az, but Carlos attention to detail is second to none.
I have seen this kind of work done a 500 dollar harber freight lathe,it is nothing special.I have only asked for pricing so we all could compare with other shops prices.carlos has a subforum and could post or change pricing at anytime.all I can figure is his prices are way to high.eye candy and bullshit means nothing to me.What it costs and how well it works mean everything. Its clear to me that the op started this thread just to start another ad for carlos .this same thing gets done on a daily basis. All you ever see bdt bdt bdt bdt bdt on the board every day.It is also clear to me you and others profit from coming on here raving about how great he is

Seriously this is true, you will find that alot of these local machine shops were the ones doing all the work for most local racers back in the day. You would be suprised if you struck up a conversation with one of these guys on a level other than "heres my cyl". Some of the stories they tell about little tricks they did back in the day, thays were my money goes for boring/fitting.

This is all crazy... Ego's, my cock is bigger than yours, my beard is nicer, and Big Macs don't taste good cold. Check websites if you want pricing, go with your favorite flavor soft drink, and before your brag about how big your weener is, remember, don't measure from your butthole out, that adds 4 inches.
My beard IS nicer!!!! Hahhaahhha! Love it!

You are correct 02Houser most or all local shops were doing work for local riders back in the day. Here is an example of a local shops that along with Jerry Hall or Hall's Precision were doing all the work. During those times there was another shop here in Phx/Mesa Az, Custom Cycle was owned by a guy named Wayne. Both Wayne and Jerry were kings here both had all the business and all the success of racers, and other duners during that time.
Now the only respected ATV businesses still standing in my opinion is Jerry Hall and Kenz Cycle Tech but he still works on 2 strokes Banshees 250R's but he is more into modern 4 strokes, and Ken always dyno tunes my bikes. Along with Ken his head mechanic Kenny both worked for Wayne at Custom and both tell me how it was in the 80's and stuff that would come in at that time.
But Wayne eventually retired sold his ATV business after years of quality work and numerous praise so that left us with Hall's Precision.

the main problem i see with the local shops is they are clueless on the newer cylinders.when i brought my old 330 to baldwin,he had never worked on one..when i asked him what he thought about a spynx-puma,etc,he had never heard of them....now if he had never heard of them, how could he port it?i also talked to bud fisher, and got the same results..most of the older shops don't really have a clue on how to work on the old 250r's.to me it's hard to find a good shop to do the work and are familure with the newer cylinders.

I find it hard to believe that Baldwin has never worked on a ProX cylinder???

There are lots of guys out there that still do work on these engines and all have have to do is ask other site members and you will get a list pretty quick. Don't settle for the 24/7 advertising that you see on this site that they are the only option out there.
