Hello,
I'm looking to see about getting a tach set up, wondering about the wiring, where to tap into.
I dont have a tach yet, wondering also what you guys run that works well.
I have the wiring diagram from the book, I'm not running head/tail light or a/c rectifier. Just enough wires to drag it.
Tether cord and coil/engine wires.

Pics would be great to. Thanks TB

most tachs have 4 wires
one for ground usually a black wire, a power wire usually red, a blue for light and a green for the coil negative wire,
real basic to hook up,when you get one , post a pic or wire colors and ill walk you through the hook up

Sweet. My boss raced back in the late 80-90's , well his son, I asked him the other day what he ran for a tach...... sure as shit he opens his desk draw and pulls out the effing tach. Gooooo figure, he was unwilling to sell.

I run a Trail Tech on my XC bike. It has a tack, just one wire that wraps around the igintion wire. IMHO a tack is a waste on a R. It revs so quick and you have to take your eyes off the road to see where its at. A good ear is the best thing.

I had a digatron set up on my sphynx drag bike. Only kept it for a few months before parting it out but I had the EGT, tach, and temp on mine. I used it to tune the alky and it worked great.

Burns350,
I understand what you mean by, "tune" / "shift" by ear. I found that out when jetting down from 172-170-165 to finally 160, it had a different tone and "pull" .

I run digatron. They have fantastic refresh rates compared to most tachs. I have tach and head temp on mine. Although you should be able to tune by ear I have still been able to fine tune to a higher degree with my digatron. Espacially with such a fast refresh you can see ur exact rev out
