As titled, this will be a thread on working combinations of a-arms. PLEASE, if you are going to post working combinations you need to include as much information as possible such as the year of any OEM parts or the brand of any aftermarket parts. Make sure to also include what you found useful about the particular set up. I will post my current set up as an example:

==================================================
Team Alba Racing 400ex +2 a-arms TRX400EX Adjustable Long Travel A-Arm Honda
2004-05 TRX450R spindles
2004-05 TRX450R hubs
2004-05 TRX450R calipers
2004-05 TRX450R rotors
2004-05 TRX450R master cylinder
==================================================

Pros:
1. As I've stated numerous times, the Alba a-arms offer the option to run standard or long travel shocks which I find extremely useful.
2. Alba a-arms are probably the most cost efficient when it comes to purchasing new bushings.
3. Running all of the TRX450R parts gives you easier to find "up to date" replacement parts.
4. Plenty of camber adjustment at the top ball joint.

Cons:
1. 250R tie-rods are too short. Will need longer tie rods to fix toe in.

I will update this as I finish getting the front end together and get it running. This is just an example of how you can fill this section out.

Here is a great tutorial on how to adjust your front end if you have heims joints: https://walshrc.com/instructions-set-up.html

I started running on mx tracks last summer and could care less if I ever trail ride again but I want more suspension travel for jumps and was thinking of goin with + 1's only in case I do trail ride but when I look for a arms some say +1 +2? Why the two numbers? And being a rookie here's a stupid question, what do i do with the rear suspension??

+2 +1 arms means, +2" wide, and +1" foward. Some a arms move the wheels foward to help with weight transfer and riding position.

Does anyone know what type caliper is the best stopping front caliper for an R??? Trx250r, trx450r, yfz450, or any other brand caliper. Which is best caliper that is compatible with 250r frame. I want a setup that fits well and stops exceptional. Even if I have to change arms, spindles, etc.

Ive heard the 04-05 trx450r spindles, calipers, rotors, hubs fit. But do these bolt up to 250r arms if not what brand arms will make custom arms to fit 250r frame and 450r front end. Also I've heard about the 400ex arms, yfz 450 calipers combo. With this setup what spindles, hubs, rotors does it require. And does anyone know about other frontend setups that stop great and fit great???

I have an 88 with stock arms. I just put a 04/05 trx450 spindles, hubs, and calipers. All fit with out any problems. If you want those plastic guards that go on the top of the rotors you have to use the ones off the same 450. I just put them on last week and have one ride on them. Trail riding they turn geese and almost no bump steer although I do have a steerinf dampener. The brakes are really spoongy but they were used parts and I haven't dug real deep into the problem yet so I wouldn't make you decision on that.

something is wrong, those brakes are better than 250R brakes. also did you switch the master cylinder? it makes a very noticeable difference.

Master and calipers are both off a 450. I believe the 450 and 250 master are exactly the same but none the less both are used parts and the more I pump the more crud that comes up into the brake resivior. Light a light metallic substance. I'm probably going to get a rebuild kit for it but all the parts fit well and it turns like a dream in the woods while poinding over uneven terrain. And there quite a bit lighter than the cast steel OEM spindles. I scored on a set or lone star hubs so I can't compare the oem 450 hubs to the OEM 250 hubs.

Tie-rods that are too short will cause toe-out not toe-in. You need shorter rods to fix a toe-in problem.
