If you like the CR reed cage performance, I would go with the Boyesen TRX250R kit. Honda makes a thin single piece metal as well as a three piece. The thinner OEM metal gasket is .25MM (.010”) thick and the three piece OEM metal is 1.5MM (.060”) thick.

Use the three piece metal for pump gas or general riding performance and the single piece OEM metal for Race Fuel, higher performance applications. Always check your UCCR to determine…

Reed cages from 1985-2001 CR250s will fit. I have found that the 1996 CR250 intake carb boot has the best angle for my setup.

I find the CR250R boots difficult to fit properly on most builds, that is one reason I prefer the TRX boot... set-ups seem to be slightly different from one to another.

The bend angles are different, the inside of the two boots have a different flow window…for me, it really comes down to the one that fits the best and allows for the better connection to the air filter assembly. I always open up the CR boot to match the reed cage being used.
