Don't hate me because I'm green. Variety is the spice of life.

Awesome...always fast of of the box. However; once Honda 250R's are worked on, they become equal to even worked on Tecate's. Plus you have the Honda famous Quality & reliability. Got to wonder why we don't see many Tecate's around, SoCal was full of them, now it's very hard to find them, let alone in any decent shape.

Regardless...the Tecate's are a great addition to anyone's collection....congrats !

Thanks guys. It's good to know there are people on this site that can appreciate other manufacturers. As a collector I never understood brand tribalism. I love my Hondas but Kawi and Suzuki made cool quads too. Having different machines allows you to appreciate the strengths and weakness of each. I've ridden all my machines in stock form, including my 89 LT 250R, and the T4 is the fastest in stock form. I'm looking forward to getting the most out of it with engine and suspension upgrades. I've already upgraded my LT 250R and it's a blisteringly fast machine too. In fact, I think the T4 and LT 250R are underrated machines. I wish they had a larger aftermarket. As mentioned above, the T4 is tall and so is the LT 250R. It's one of the main differences they have with the TRX. Both Kawi and Suzuki used a motorcycle-style frame, with a main spar down the center. After making that high enough to pull off the cylinder and put a gas tank on it, you have a high center of gravity. Honda got the twin spar design right. It allows for a lower center of gravity. I've got all the hi-performance 250s from the 80s now. Maybe a Quadzilla is next, or a Pilot FL400. Here's my LT 250R.

I wanted one of these so bad back when they were new! That one is very nice, and so is your LT250R. I have one Suzuki quad in my collection, a nice original 86 Quadsport. I just picked it up last year, it was another model I wanted back in the day.

My t4 really opened up with just an exhaust! I like anything 2 stroke I also have a fl400
What exhaust did you get? There aren't a lot available. I hear the fmf isn't much better than stock. I found a company, ILR performance, that makes a more high end pipe for $600.
