Just finally posting, I joined years ago (6 or so) when I bought my first R . I had it sent out from Cali to NY where I lived, pulled it apart, had everything for it but motor then I had an issue with the place who did the powder coat (was back when candy apple red was hot) so I ended up just parting the quad out. I was building it to climb the sand mines by my house but unfortunately they hired live on the site security and was not able to ride there anymore. I built a 4 stroke trail quad and rode that since but a few more years it became nearly impossible to ride out on eastern LI, they are in the woods all the time and take your bikes now not dont giving them back. Frustrated with NY my wife and I just moved to Florida so before we left I bought a already built R and going to ride it on the tracks here. A guy did a real nice job building it, done right, Im taking it Tuesday to dyno tune it because Im worried about not having it right because of the hot/humid weather I did a few things to finish it so tuning should be about the last thing to do before I really ride, Ive had it for nearly 4 months and only ripped it around a dirt parking lot in NY before I packed it and made way down south. Im looking forward to being part of this community, Ive read quite a bit over the years here and there are some good guys, spoke with ATVGuy some, steered me in the right direction. Looking forward to learning more and sharing the fun our R's bring us.

I was talking to atvguy about building one then I decided to see if I could find something close to what I was looking for....resto-mod. Then I decided to check e-bay, was at least 7 years since I went on there and it was right there. Grabbed it right away, he was Indiana and myself in NY, we met in NJ.

nice R.suprised i never seen it forsale.

Glad to you here. This forum started to slow way down past few weeks, lets make it active again 🙂
Thanks, happy to be here also. Ill be posting frequently, trying to get it dialed in.

Very good looking machine you have. Congrats on moving down south, as well haha.
I appreciate it and well done on yours. Frame swap out went well, nice way to get to know your R.

I’m gonna try and head out as early as possible..if we can get few hours of riding in I’ll be content..I went riding Saturday here in nyc and I’m sore as hell.I haven’t had time to ride all summer..I have a cr250r at my dads so that’ll have me working Saturday..
