Ive got an extra frame that Ive been cleaning up a little adding a gusset here and there but not a full kit and will be selling it (local) wondering what would be a good color to powder it for resale

colors im thinking on

Mirror red
argent silver ( aka wheel silver same color as old school alley wheels)
white
black
I could do it custom but custom stuff limits who will actually be interested in it figure I would toss it out there see what other people think

Going more to a simple color on this frame, to custom it will be harder to sell and im not doing this to keep for myself-- dropped it off to be stripped and blasted so when I get it back ill double check for cracks that may have been hidded under the paint (the factory red was under a layer or two of white and already fixed a couple cracks and added gussets between the main frame and sub frame area)

Said screw it---I wanted to try something the frame is for resale so my money is tied up in it might as well see my idea come to be ---so far its in the oven with a first coat and Ive never powdered anything this size in chrome before --looks a little like something from terminator right now lol
Sneak Peek--parts not to temp and poor picture but for now good nuff lol

That is sick. I would of thought it was green too. I like how on the first pic light is hitting the front of the frame more so it looks like some chameleon color change s***t

I'm sure it will, but my dad has changed his mind 20 times about whether he wants to go OEM or custom with this build and was even changing powdercoat color choices after we had the frame media blasted. We finally agreed to stick with OEM appearance but replacing the Suzuki blue with this candy translucent. Hopefully it's just a small touch that still looks good without getting too far away from stock.

LOL no worries only reason i know is because I was testing out some of the "glow in the dark" clear and after 7 coats on some test panels it still didnt glow worth a crap so I got the light out to see if the glow powder would react to it (which it didnt) and when the light was out i happen to have some parts that I had powdered with shocker yellow over heavy silver (which also looks cool as shit) and they were glowing nice and bright --- its just cool looking and they do sell UV under lighting it would sure put those damn LED whips to shame seeing a glowing frame pass by in the dunes ;) lol

I send out my bigger stuff for blasting to a company that does powder coating they will burn off the old finish before they blast it so there really isnt a worry of grease or the wrong media used etc -- but you still have to blow out all the blasting dust from all holes once thats done clean it with denatured alcohol and just to be on the safe side of things I do pre cook or do a burn-out how ever you wanna call it JUST to make 100% sure there is nothing to mess with the powder--burn out usually 50 degrees or so above the actual part temp for a longer period--then look it over really well again before powder --- powder it on up, cook it, let it 100% cool, spray coat #2 and cook it again times/heat etc will vary but as an example the above superchrome cures at 12 minutes Part Temp at 380*(and chrome powder is sensitive to the cure cycle) second coat yellow cures out at 400 for 10--BUT unlike other powders the chrome has to fully cure out before the top coat and your top coat has to cure at the same temp as the chrome no matter what its cure temp is so that means you drop the yellows heat to 380 and extend cook time--> again from Part temp thats the fast easy version lol (usually on second coats its a half to 3/4 cure then second coat it and do a normal full cure for the second coat again powder to powder things may be different)----dont know your current set-up, if any, but if your gonna try and powder a whole frame with an eastwood/harbor freight type gun you better stick with 1 coat

Edit---I used less than 1# of powder on each with my set-up and spraying-- you could use more or less but i think youd be safe ordering 1# base and 2# top coat cause if you have problems it will be on that second coat and its just better to have more than less ;)
