going to try that tonight when i get home, even if that does help it run better i think the over fueling issue i have right now is pointing to another problem.

If you have a similar, same or newer carb you can swap, then try testing with a different carb. Sounds to me your carb might be the issue. Old carbs become worn out, develop internal leaks, and cause havoc with jetting.

Unfortunately i don't have another carb to test with. I messed with it some more today, found an extra o ring in the idle/choke knob took that out and the bike idled better but still smoking real bad and had a wet plug. Checked the float again and it looks good from what I can tell. I agree carbs can get worn out but this one looks to be in pretty good shape, id like to avoid buying another because I know ill end up spending close to 200 on a pwk 38 somehow, damn mod bug:huh:. I did notice today that the plug in it and the extra plugs the previous owner gave me are all bpr7es which seems to be wrong from what I can find, going to pick up a B8EG by the end of the week hopefully. Here's a video of it idling, already warm and still smoking like a siv, and a picture of the plug after idling.

Pulled the float bowl off and manually pushed the float up with the fuel petcock on, no fuel cam out with even the slightest pressure applied so i know that isn't the issue. Put the new B8EG plug in gaped at .020 and same thing, no change in idle or throttle response. I pulled the reeds off to make sure they were in good shape and they looked perfect so cross that off the list. The intake port and reeds were soaked in fuel though. I've ruled out transmission fluid, the level has not changed at all and the fluid still looks clean as can be. I'm running out of ideas on what to check without completely replacing the carb.

If you cant get a different carb to test with, and are confident the carb is good (I still think your carb is one of the problems or the main problem)...then proceed to test all the electricals with an OHM meter to Honda service manual specs. If you do a search on this forum, the service manual has been posted, and all the electrical testing info has as well.

Need to start somewhere, and the electrical componets, connectors, switch, wire harness, ect...is a good place to start.

Tested all the electronic this morning, everything checked out fine. In the process of getting a 38mm pwk currently. Guess ill start over when i get that.

I have had similar problem. Had 48 pilot 150 main wouldn't idle unless air screw was 6 1/2 turns out and idle knob was was all of the way ccw . It still would load up at low rpm would clean out in high rpm.Changed to 42 pilot still 150 main float at 3/4 air screw 2 turns out idle knob 3/4 the way out needle 2nd from top and quad would idle. Still seems a little fat at low rpm going to drop pilot to 40 or 38 to see if it helps. From the looks of your plug it looks like to much fuel. Might try 42 or 40 pilot and change float level see if it helps it did for me . I have never work on a bigger piece of crap carb in my life! good luck
