my girl after the 90 minute battle. Still smiling, wanting more.

Why don't you just take your trx500 to the race. Would love to see pics of it...everyone would love to see pics of it is a better way to say it lol

I really think Burns (kyle) nailed the nail on the head... you may be in better shape than last season but your conditioning is not effective for riding a 2-stroke. The est kind of conditioning is to go out and ride hard for practice. Riding a two-stroke takes confidence that a 450 doesn't require. Nail your conditioning and confidence with some experience and you WILL see much better results. Riding a two stroke isnt just different for power delivery but also for weight distribution, corner speed, jump speed, etc...

I'll agree to that. I figured out how to slide it and finally jump it. That's actually why I got rid of my first 250 is because I couldn't get the jumping down and would either nose it up or faceplant it. Somehow I figure out how to jump this one and actually like launching it better than my old 450's. Flys much better.
Conditioning could always be improved. Agreed. I hope my body can still take it. The 'over 40' class isn't to far in my future. lol I haven't focus on arm pump that much because I never really got it. But I'll step up that area of my training a bit more for the next race and see what happens. It's a trade off in that area though because if I work my forearms too much, my carpel tunnel usually rears its ugly head and my hands go numb. I'll see what I can do and report back after next race.

If your getting arm pump you need to be practicing more on the bike your going to be racing. Familiarity with the power delivery is key. You might need to try a different pipe with more low end. Also mentioned was your suspension needed more dialing in. I would try that first. Also not thought of is moving your footpeg mounts back to help get more weight over the rear suspension, shifter & brake pedal might need to be shortened accordingly. I used to think this was not a big deal but it helped. Front end felt lighter and rear suspension better controlled. You might also try a shortened swingarm, wax had a -2" on his personal 250r I bought off him. Greg Stuart & Doug eichner used to ruin the competition atthe adelanto gp on trx250rs. Practice practice practice. They closed down Palm ave 10 minutes from me. Dirt wheels/ dirt bike mag used to go there for pics a lot. My conditioning went down as well. Keep hammering and never give up, best of luck in the future.

Had a lot of guys tell me a flywheel weight helped them, been out of the loop so long Im not sure/don't remember if its applicable on R's or not
I swear I remember hearing the same thing but I can't find anything online about it anywhere.

Ill just tell u what I done and you can use ur judgement. First I got new tires huge help. 2 strokes don't put down torque power like a 450. Then put in a 4 mil stroker even more help. Matched the port and got a fmf fatty the bigger one. Next for fatigue I softened the stock suspension up all it would go cause I weight 120. Last I put a piece of hard rubber tube on my thumb throttle to extend it. Helps to relax the hand and arm when not in tight stuff. Now I'm in love and others are left behind. Lol

Tires are very high up on my list next. Suspension work after that for sure. I'd never heard of the rubber on the thumb throttle but it makes perfect sense and I'm gonna give it a shot next time out. That's an awesome idea!

Just got gbc xc tires from maniacal motorsports heard good reviews about them would be a good purchase for xc racing. Should get them in a few days. I have always buy razors but for the price of 2 razors you can get all four gbc tires shipped.

GBC tires are great. IMO don't waste your money on the Razr 2's, both are made in China anyways.

I wouldn't beat yourself up over it especially wouldn't sell it you've only got 2 races on a competely different bike it's gonna take a little time to figure it out regardless of your prior race experience, stick with it lets see some go pros and see what's happening lol

as for the flywheel.if you are running the stock flywheel, that would be the heaviest.the cr are a lot lighter and will loose rpms quick when you let off the throttle.pvl's are the worst for that because they don't use a flywheel..they do rev quick though.

Ill get a pic of thumb rubber when I get home. They make kits to do this called throttle extension kits. But it seems bulky so hard rubber hose works great plus u can cut to length. It doesn't get it the way when you try to use it normal. And going wide open through the woods you'll nevr know its there till ur glad u have it haha

Sounds like you need more displacement. More displacement from a 310 330 or 350 cyl kit possibly with a 4 mil stroker crank. More cc's set up for the woods with possibly a power valve and pipe change will allow you to scoot through the trees without your arms turning into rubber bands 1/3 way through the race. I would run a power valve with whatever combo you can work out and a trx7 type pipe if you can fit it in the budget. Budget controls the options available just make sure that you have all parts and labor required for every option that you are kicking around added up as you decide what to do. Also there are now some cyl kits out there that give you the option to install a power valve at a later date when you have some more toy $$.
Good luck with whatever you do.
