Problem is, those are for a 4 stroke. Its not gonna matter on that as much as the 2 stroke. And as far as running 2 full silencers, your gonna be playing with the waves that's the expansion chamber creates. Either your gonna come in to early or to late on the powerband. On a cm pipe you could put your y pipe on the have custom made pipes for each silencer. And I think you would be safe. As long as they were two Shortys. I'm thinking of bending the stinger on my pipe, but I don't want to mess up my trx5. As quick as I can get the extra cash around to pick up a pipe from one of our members who offered to sell me one then I will have a pipe bent. I have the perfect way to do it. Does anyone have a good pic they could post of a air box eliminator kit on their bike they could share?

I thought you were making a dual system? Did you ever get this done? Sounds like you were on to something great. Or did this idea seem too unrealistic to continue? Keep up the good work, I'm sure that if the dual system wasn't already thought of, you could make it work.

This idea is GOLD. Pipes just like my buddies Yamaha.

I would run a PVC Y fitting for the "duel" pipes, or if you want to get even more horsepower run 3 silencers. A center mount, and one on the left and right side.
I guess i had a different picture in my mind something like this would look amazing but with shinny new muffleres, it would have to be polished

Chrs, just an FYI your sound waves are effected by the cones in the expansion chamber, once the waves exit the stinger they do not return to the engine. The silencer only effects engine performance when the volume is increased because it creates back pressure or reduces back pressure at the silencer however it is not actually the back pressure that forces the fuel mix back into the cylinder. The The sound waves and excess air/fuel travel from the exhaust port into the expansion chamber and are forced back into the cylinder from the scavenging effects of the engines stroke and the pipes design similar to that of a turbo charger on a 4 stroke, but is more of a natural effect of the engines design. The stinger and silencer are specific to the expulsion of the exhaust after the expansion chamber cycle. The ring ting ting you hear in a pipe is actually the force of the sound waves hitting the walls of the pipe, the different tones of pipes have to do with the different shapes and thickness of metal, and type of metal used in the construction of the pipe.

you want duals buy a banshee
banshees are nice, but I used to hate riding my friends back in the day...lol I would burn both inner calfs.

Chrs, I think the only benefit from duels is the look, if you do it take pics, don't know til yeh try.

The dual pipes idea was used first on the CRF250 in an attempt to make the bike more "balanced" in the transition from standing straight up to being laid down in the corners. I think it was more of a gimmick than anything else.

Not one single 2013 450 bike from the major manufacturers has a dual pipe system. This also goes for the 2013 250s.

Obviously the weight transition really doesn't apply to the quads. Wouldn't make much sense

I actually thought about really trying this idea out this winter. Just to prove a point. I know the duals will not provide any extra power, we all know this. But it would just be cool to shut up all the people who give me so much shit for the idea.

chris i like your idear and if these pipes were available we would be using them. as i stated before i have a kfx and yfz 450's both with duels on them it all started from my banshee. i like the look and it does turn a lot of heads. and there's always thoes who say it adds weight. for me i only weight 160 lbs. never been something i was concerned with. i build my bikes for me not for anyone else. my build is in lock down due to working 70-80 hours a week. just no time available. when i get to it i will be looking at a duel option.
Funny part is if esr bdt baldwin racing trinity racing or any other built a duel system. the conversation would be different. i custom fabricated a flip seat out of stainless. and many poked fun at it. when it is assembled i will post photos of it i'm sure most will like it. keep up your inovating idears i'm sure many are watching. i know i will.
Thanks Douglas
