I have a 1988 TRX250R motor that I rebuilt with intentions of using in a full on restoration project. I have since decided that I enjoy riding the quad too much and will keep it original and just ride it. So.... instead of leaving this sitting in my living room I am going to try and recoup some of the money I put into it.
I have $2,099.78 into this motor. I bought it in need of work (needed transmission work). I rebuilt the entire motor, powder coated the cases (stock Honda black with low temp PC), installed new OEM bearings and seals (~$250), the cylinder was bored and honed (work done by Langcourt USA) 1 size over stock and a new piston was installed.
The motor has a Hinson clutch basket and Boyseen Power Reeds.
As the pictures show this motor is 100% ready to drop in and use, it does not need a thing. There is a new kick starter installed, new sprocket, new shifter, and more!! The pictures tell the story.
This is as close to a stock NOS motor as you will find, it looks like it was just taken out of a crate! It now lives in my living room looking pretty on its stand
