Well from the pics the frame looks like a good start. As for the sandblasted stuff wouldn’t cost a lot to coat. The motor sides are aluminum. Might be able to sand them down and polish depending on how deep the sand pits are. I hear 250rs are hard to find up there so be a good builder. IMO keep it and build her right.

Hello world, first post here and no introduction so sorry in advance.

I am from Montreal Quebec Canada I am a 2 strokes lover. I have a shee and now a 250r... unfortunately I got ripped off by a...bad guy.

Anyway I bought this $3500 Canada.

Dude said the frame, motor swingarm, nerf, aarm were powder coated...I don't think it is the case at all...

I think the frame was soldered close to the engine mount. A lot of parts are not painted and look old or damaged.

I don't have the budget to sand it and powder coat it and start from scratch...I am pressing charge against the guy.

What should I do? Do you think the frame is decent? And the parts? There is no muffler with the pipe...let me know what will you do with that base with a low budget to get your money back...

Thank you for your quick response!
Certainly looks like you did get "ripped off". If you paid with CC or PayPal; file a claim and get your funds returned ASAP. No room for thieves in the 250R World...!

Funny...but not that much. A lot of items in boxes were in a bad shape and I was not able to see those until I got home. But that is not the point..just want to know where to start. Yes, those are very hard find in Canada, I guess with frame, papersz bedlocks rims, Plastics and suspension and motor I can get 3000$.

Is it worth it to start a new project like this without powder coat the frame??

Thanks
