Hey guys what's the difference in the engines from the cr250 and the engines in the trx250r?

No counter balancer. No power valve are the biggest differences. Im sure the tranny has difference gear ratios. Porting is much different. Im sure the differences are endless. These are the most obvious.

Everything is different. Both are 2 strokes is about it but a lot of cr parts have been used or made to be used over the years on atc/trx 250r's.

mainly relating to performance.... buddy of mine said they were the same engines but i thought that i had read that there were several differences. ran with a 99 cr the other day and it seemed like it just sounded different? i know there is a good bit of power to weight diff. figured thats why it sounded like it revved so high?

You can use the main bearing of the crank in a trx. Not sure of what year to use though.

The CR engine does Rev easier, specially easier than the Long Rod 87-89 TRX250R engines. The CR250R IGN also has a much lighter Flywheel and again Revs Easier & Higher...lot's of differences between a TRX/ATC250R & CR250R engines...CB, Stroke (short verses long), Cylinder Porting, Head/Dome, Piston, Cases, Interanls, ect...

Hey guys got quick question. I've got 86 atc 250r I've had in storage for years in boxes. Had a junk motor. I bought other motor on ebay few years ago and I'm running into problems with getting carb on its hitting the frame even with spacer out that was on old motor the jugs look the same from od one to one I bought few friends have looked at it and something is different can't figure it out. Either different motor mounts? Or maybe one I bought is for trx thinking frames are different?? Any ideas thanks
