I got this machine for $2,500. JP frame, A's, stem, & swinger...LRD motor/exhaust...PEP triple-rates f/r. Came with extra f/r plastic and extra rear wheels/tires. Whatcha guys think?

I think you got a pretty good deal, but as long YOU think that you got a good deal is all that matters. It's no beauty queen, but it's definitely a nice start. How does it run/ride? What's the condition of everything that wears, e.g. top end, bottom end, bushings, bearings, shocks, frame cracks, etc.? Some cleaning up and fresh powder would do wonders.

Is that a no-link I see back there?

Yes, it has a no-link.

Forgive my ignorance, but what's the big deal about that?

its an aftermarket rear suspention set up. it has its pro's and con's. the no-link set up you have now, has more travel than the stock suspention. if its valved correctly it should work very nicely. if its not you might hate it.

What year frame do you have? Does it have the JP logo "laser cut" in the front upper shock mount where the production number plate is riveted to? If the condition of the motor is excellent, I think ya got a great deal :)

I don't know what year it is. The logo isn't laser cut like yours. I know it must be an early 90's frame, because the previous owner purchased it in '97 already built...supposedly there's a folder full of receipts and other paperwork, but I doubt I ever see it (we all know how that goes). He just moved and isn't sure what box it could be in...and he's owned the quad since 1997, so who knows if he even still has the stuff. Does anyone know what year it was when JP became Lonestar Racing?

I run the same frame as yours except Ive got a full axis set-up with a different no-link dc2 swinger. And I believe from what Ive researched, JP became LSR sometime in 1995. My frame was born in 1994 and have had been supposedly sent back to LSR for updates/gussets as it was riddled with cracks :( .

Mine is like RebelBanshee's frame. Three holes in the front of the shock mount, "JP Outlaw" written in the top. With the plastic on I can't quite make out the year (looked like 930 something, if that's possible).
