its the link from a cr500 on the swinger, you need a special swinger, shocks, and a frame that will accept the swinger, but it soaks up jumps alot nicer tahn the stock one

this type set up is only as good as the shock ...& is a very specific rider setup
if the shock is not fresh ,in great working condition , tuned in well & built to your specs .. you probably wont like the set up

holy crap! really? ;) :p

the cr500 is really supposed to shine on the MX track. as already said everything is different. but is is a very, very good rear suspension. the one i rode was amazing. you could possibly move your shock mount on a stock frame, but your going to be much better off finding a frame rear shock and swingarm, and then valving it for you.

and would the valving have to be done differantly if it was?
Yes..How ever is setting the shock up would need to know this. Just post a pic of the back of the R with the plastic off and I will tell you for sure what it is.

My Laeger bike has the cr link. I love moguls (whoops), giant speed bumps, etc etc. I have become spoiled because no matter how much abuse I give the rear, it just soaks it up. There is one section of strait away at Pismo near the beach that has whoops about 3 1/2' tall and about 6' apart. more like a sea of doubles than whoops. I took that laeger bike in sixth pinned and never even bottomed it. Ranger Rick clocked me at 81 mph which he thought was a little too fast that close to the campers.... oops. I tried the same thing on my buddies R with a no-link set up and it was like trying to ride a pogo stick. Plus everytime it bottomed, it was all I could do to stay on the bike. Both of us are the same build and both shocks PEP set up the same. I thought that was a pretty good example the the cr 500 link.

I'd love to see that. That suspension must be awesome. Did you get a ticket or just a warning?
