well sunday me the wife and kids went riding and there was a good size triple out there i made it the first couple time but the last time i came up short and planted my face pretty hard which would have been fine except for the fact that my helmet shattered and then left my face to take the rest. has anybody on here ever had a helmet shatter or did i just get a defective helmet. ended up with a bunch of rash and a small concussion and hurt pride but my dad always told me the only 2 types of riders out there are the ones that have been down and the ones that are goin down

it was an hjc helmet and was only about a year old never been down with before. the face mask just broke into a bunch of little peices

it took most of the skin off my forehead part of my nose side of upper lip left ear and chin the hospital had to pull a peice of the helmet out of my lip. i was on my buddys cr250 and he was on my R so i wanted to be the one to fix his bike but he told to cook him a steak and well be cool. which doesnt seem right to me so im gonna do a topend on his other bike for him. i have had some bad wrecks in the past but none of them had a helmet come apart like that so it kinda weirds me out.

no its not damaged at all but i did get it broke in and got the jetting dialed in and raced it for the first time sunday before i crashed against an 07 450R that was piped jetted and sprocketed and from what he says it was a big bore motor but in a drag race through 4th gear i put about 7 bike lenghts on him the R pulls hard in the mid and top range it really suprised me thanks again for selling it to me james

only bad crash I have had ,I was wearing an HJC helmet and it broke the visor right off from my face smashing the ground , and cracked the helmet in 2 spots little cracks --

Im sure 95% of riders know all about hurt pride and embarrising moments that we would rather not speak of
hey atleast you were able to talk about it and not have someone do the talking for ya

edit -----I have crashed many a time --- but the only one that was ever bad enough to bust a helmet was the one I was mentioning but to shatter a helmet I have never seen will you grace us all with some pics

yea it wasnt the worst wreck ive ever had but what can i say i went down but im mostly alright and its not gonna stop me from riding in fact were goin riding this sunday also

i went down and hit my head hard, probably my second ride out with my current helmet. if it was a couple seasons old, i would have replaced it. there was no way i was replacing my new rather expensive helmet after the second or so ride though. fingers crossed that i dont regret that decision :lol: .

i have a helmet from when i was a teenager that i had been down in hard countless times and other than being ugly its still intact i dont wear it anymore but after being down so many times in it its still together
