does anyone know what top speed should be for a r ..... my bike was running shitty and it was side by side with my kfx400 that was clocked at 120kph....so bout 70mph.... anyways i got it runnin great and i geared it up to a 14/38, it still launch's great, 1 gear hard not to flip it over anyways was running awsome last night ( was like -15c) and i had a buddy clock me... said i was only doing 120... but it seems faster than before... anyways has anyone clocked there r's and can gimme an idea of top speeds? btw 86r bored 1.25mm over wiseco, boysen reeds, reed spacer, fmf fatty, fmf turbinecore2, coolhead, 180psi runnin premium, .... still mixing gas 20-1... thinking i should try 32-1 or something? stock porting

i wouldnt mix 20:1. 2-stroke oils have come a long long way since those recommendations. im running amsoil dominator at 40:1 if your not using a high quality synthetic i would run 32:1. as for top speed, high performance quads will have a top speed ranging from 65-75 mph. sprockets, tires, pipes, weight of rider, etc will all change it some significantly. heres a gearing calculator for MPH for the 250R http://home.earthlink.net/~gellett/250r.htm
if you know your RPM you can get your MPH.

all i ever cared about is whether i was beating the other guy around the track. doesnt really matter what MPH your going.

that is a great site..... is 8250rpm stock rev limiter for the 250r?..... i bet my bike aint hitting that rpm in 6th because it says i would be doing 77 mph i still gotta dial ion my jetting... been kinda hard the weather has been anywhere from -20 - +5 in the last week

75 to 85 is normal, but with different gearing & some engine work so you could pull those gears, it could run faster.
10,000 rpm on a 250R would be pushing the limit, it could happen, but I wouldnt want to be paying for the replacement parts.

I GPS'ed mine when it was bone stock at 66mph.........might have had a little left in it, though (it was a windy road).
