You can either do a 1-5 or 2-4 on the R's. The guys above pretty much summed it up, let out the clutch at the start and shift the gears under full throttle with-out the use of the clutch. Be sure to grab the clutch before letting off the gas, because it creates pressure on the shift forks, I have seen them shatter. IE, you can't trail ride this kind of tranny, you can't just let off the gas when you want, or putt around and down shift under load.

The overrides for 250rs only come in 1-4 or 2-4. You cant do more than 4 gears. There isnt enough room in a honda case to do more gears. You still have 5th and 6th but you have to clutch them.

In a 300ft sand drag its worth about 2-3 tenths or about 3-4 bike lenghts.

Yes if you let off the gas in any over driven gear (1st-3rd) with the clutch engaged it will break or bend the shift forks. But you can lift the gas in the a none overriden gear (4th-6th) and not hurt the shift forks.

Yeah there was a company a few months ago down in FLA doing a 1-5, I'm not sure if it panned out to be anything good or not. But we'll see if this one works!

If someone makes one that actually works..I'd be all over that for sure!!
