ok i have a plus 4 axle and i think its a stock swingarm. im not sure i asked the guy that i bought the quad off of and he didnt know either. he said it looked stock but hes not sure. my Q is, is a stock swingarm good enough for mx or should i get it a little built more longer. thanks guys

you didnt say what year or/& style ..
88 style/length is good (shorter of the 2 stock lengths)..but like all stock swingarms they are weak so the question is not length,.... but stronger ;)

The 86/87 swingarms were made of mild steel, whereas the 88/89 were made of aluminum. Also, the 88/89 were 1" shorter than the 86/87's, and are more favorable for MX. You can use your 87 swingarm, but for MX the 88/89 length is recommended. Then again this is all preference. Typically when you find aftermarket swingarms, whether they are the 86/87 style or the 88/89 style, they are the 88/89 length. Good luck.
