hi,
just wondering if my intake will stretch easily over a 38mm carb with a bit of heat, and once it stretched will it be useless when putting a 34mm carb back on??

buy a new boot. its not worth cracking a boot and getting an air leak

if the boot is pretty new id stretch. if its old and hard, you probably want to buy a new one.

new ones stretch easy. here's thing I noticed, a regular sized bottle of beer is almost the exact size of a 39mm carb end. When stretching my boots thats what I used to get it to stretch and if you put the boot w/bottle in the end in the freezer, it will hold the size making it far easier to get the carb on. On a new intake tube, this shouldn't be needed, but it was in my situation, 85/86 atc250r air tubes are discontinued, I had no choice but the heat and stretch the old tube.
