if you raise up the rear of the quad is the axle free to rotate ? brakes stuck? carrier bearing locked up? broken sproket tooth stuck in chain ? or is it a inside the trans mission issue ? clutch adjusted or fried ?

You can kick it and start it so assume your kick start shaft, idler, and clutch gear are fine. Can you feel it firmly going into each gear? You have either shift fork problems (split cases) or a bad clutch. Your clutch probably isn't it as it would at least try to grab. If the basket was broken you'd hear it. pull the clutch cover and look in there. If all looks fine it's a fork at best. Worst is another story.

well least the quad wont get dirty or wrecked LOL j/k
"It does'nt even grab"
sounds like ^ this is a description of clutch not working so ..

start at clutch cable adjusted right ,( assuming all needed pcs are intact & ok /not locked up etc chain , sprockets carrier brake etc )..then of all ok move on to remove c cover check if all pcs are intact & tight etc .. if so move on to other stuff like rebuild motor !
...also consult MANUAL for this problem could be an EYE opener ..:)

hi mate, your problem could be none of the above and a really simply fix, remove the the clutch side casing and look in the bottom left corner
while lifting the shifter up and down and you might see that it's not attatched to the arm, you'll see when your looking at the rod and lifting the shifter.
pull the shifter out slightly and get it into the piece were it sits in like a elongated hole, definately worth a look.
also make sure you don't pull the shifter back out while pushing the clutch side casing on because the end of the rod sits up to the casing to stop it coming of that shifter arm.

If the clutch is adjusted correctly, and your clutch lever, rod and all your plates, fibers, springs and clutch basket are good, then it is likely the 'hat' type washer on the shift lever arm that engages the shift star is out of location, or the spring & lever on the shift star/drum is not in place or broken, or you can have bent shift fork(s), or an improperly assembled transmission.
