I have a couple questions about rear hubs.
I would like to get a little more width without using wheel spacers or having to get a new axle. I thought I remember reading that the later year Rs were a little wider than the earlier years. If this is true and its the hubs could someone post a pic. The hubs I have I got from the site and don't know what year they came off of.

What other rear hubs fit on a stock 250r axle, (450r, 300ex etc... or ever other brands Yamaha, suzuki, etc..)

From what I have read I don't think 400ex hubs work with a 250r axle, correct me if I'm wrong.

And one last thing does anyone know what hubs are the same for the 400ex (250ex, 300ex, etc)? the reason I ask is I can use 400ex hubs on my Tecate4 and get rid of the 4/156 bolt pattern and use some of my 4/110 rims.

All 86-89 trx250r's have same oem factory width. If you want to go a little wider then you may be able to get it out of a different offset wheel. What offset do you have now on front and rear? 3-2 or 4-1 or what? Each offset will create a different width.

all set on the front. just wondering about rear hubs. Right now when sitting on the quad the front is about 48 1/2" and the rear is 46". I used to have Westcoast hubs on the rear but sold them because they worth $ and it made the rear 52". Durablue has some hubs that are +1 per side I believe but are like $175, just looking to see if there was a cheaper way to get 1-2" more on the rear

TRX450r hubs are the same as 400ex, also KFX450R is also the same. Of the three 400ex is the widest then the 450r then the KFX450R.

As for your 250r there are no hubs that fit, at least none that will make it wider.

Best to just get a Tusk adjustable 400ex axle and some modern hubs.

I thought the 300ex hubs were alittle wider.i can look later this morning to check.i have both.
300ex hubs are wider. Problem is, they will swap to a 250x or 400ex, but not a 250R axle, so this really doesn't help dirtyd out. Too bad Tusk doesn't make a set for the 250R like they do some other machines because theirs are pretty good. We got a set of Z400 hubs for the Quadzilla and they widened it in the rear end and they were only $99.

I'm leaning toward that there is a difference between the earlier and later hubs. But not 100% sure yet. 86-87 had collar that went between the hub and castle nut were as the 88-89 did not. Unless Honda made the end of the axle with splines different in depth.

Also found this in a factory Honda service manual. overall width 86-87 44.5" 88-89 45.7"

You are correct on the width but the splines are the exact same on all 4 years of TRX250R as well as the 85-86 ATC250R.

ok.the 300ex hubs will fit a 250r axle and are 1 1/2'' wider each.just had to swap them on my sons 300ex because he put my R one on instead of the 300ex one.

Are they a particular year just to be sure? Part number 42410-HC0-000 is listed as a 93-04 300ex and 99-01 400ex rear hub. When I got that axle from BigRed, it had 400ex hubs on it they would not fit the 250R axle and vice versa, but maybe they were 02+ 400ex hubs and those splines are different.

Do you maybe have a 400ex axle in your R? I was just reading in compatibilty thread that a 400ex fits but have to use 400ex hubs.
