If your looking for a tough bearing and you have a double bearing carrier (4). Napa carries a bearing part #AC2 dim: 62-40-24. By far the longest lasting bearing i've used. My Q is should I pop out the inside seals and fill cavity with grease or leave well enough alone and keep bearings self contained?

what ever you do don't pop out the seals. that defets the purpose of a "sealed" bearing. no madder what you do you will get dirt in there and that will trash the bearing.

you can pop them out and put more grease in them and put the seals back on or, if your carrier is stock, drill and tap a hole for a grease fitting then leave the inner seals off and grease every couple rides or so.

just on a side note bearings are rated on number of revolutions. once they meet that revolution (what they have been proven to last) they start to go out of spec fast. so even with taking the seals out and greasing them more, the metal has already started to wear. so it real serves no propose to take the seal out and grease it.

by getting the bearing from napa you are already spending less on bearings, and you should be able to get seals also
