looking for a dome to up my compression. want to run 50/50 or all race gas. my compression right now is around 180. motor has the 310 kit. lt me know what you have or the best places to buy. thanks - Jordan

Check with,

LA Sleeve, CT Racing or ESR.
Check with BVC as well, see if hes got hooked up with them yet.

Sir, I have one for a esr head at 225 psi, I'll never use it I'm willing to part with it if you want it. Offers, not sure it will work for ya but willing to deal.. I just bought my quad from esr310r on this site came with the quad. You can check with him on details..

The Pro-x heads, if it came from LA Sleeve or CT Racing, theres a little divet slot cut on the inside of the dome that alines up with a point in the other part of the head. The divet is machined in so the dome cant rotate when pulling or installing the plug. LA Sleeve & CT domes the plug is at an angle, ESR domes the plug is straight in.

The ESR head, the outside of their heads are different, & the dome has the same machining as the LA Sleeve or CT dome but without the little divet slot, so, if you have a ESR head, either dome from eithe place will work.

On my head it says procross...thats all i know. Not sure where the cylinder was originally bought as it was on the engine when i got it, although i know its a 310 pro-x cylinder. I have found a knew dome for 49.95, my choice of pump, 50/50, or race. sound like a good price? also please let me know any info you might have on that head and which dome would work. thanks - Jordan

if the head is cast and just says pro cross on it its the LA sleeve/CT head. $50 is what ive always payed for the heads. just make sure your not buying a dome from ESR, as Niel mentioned.

if i was to put a race gas dome in what kind of compression would i be looking at? also is it going to make it run different as far as jetting and everything? i don't really want to have to mess with re-jetting the carb.

180-185 is pretty much the excepted level at which you need to start running some kind of high performance fuel 50/50 etc. you will probably have to re-jet for race gas.

ya blacker is right on, my comp is right at 185, I run 2 gal of 112 octane with 3 gal of 91 and mix it at 36:1.. Works great and smells good to...

If that dome your getting is one of ESRs domes, you will need to cut the little divit place out to fit the Pro-x head.

Do you have that head off the cylinder, can you post a pic.

no i don't have the head off yet. but i will not be going with a dome from esr, i don't want to mess with grinding the notch. I'm getting ready to put on the esr ignition, and once i get that on and everything is good then i will probably try another dome.
