I'm getting ready to put new foam and cover on a used seat pan. I took the old cover and foam off tonight and noticed that there is some additional padding in the front and on the sides of the pan. Its stuck to the pan and its kinda like carpet padding. Is this add'l padding supposed to be there underneath the foam? Do I leave it or remove it? If it isn't OEM, I think I'll remove it. I hoping to get this seat done tomorrow.

its not gonna hurt to take it out its just there for extra comport if ya take it out the seat is just gonna be a little harder and ur a** lol. just make sure to lay the cover on and test fit. also find the center up by the end thats closest to ur tank and make sure ur seams run down the edge of the foam. having a friend and a air stappler makes it alot easyier and also dont forget ur heat gun or blow drier. iv done them it really sucks lol but if u take ur time and pull it tight then it should come out sweet and look nice. good luck

Im thinking about doing the same thing...either getting new ceet foam or buying a better condition seat off ebay....Should i expect this michael88r? Did you ever get confirmation if it was stock or not? thanks....
I never got any answers, but it didn't look stock so I took it off and had an upholstery guy mount the new foam and cover. The seat I had was used so I thought someone had added the extra padding. When we put new foam on my dad's seat, I didn't think it had the padding, just foam.
