Here is some pics of me on my Dad's Z400 at Glamis. I'm not a big jumper, and especially not on the Z. Shocks are too soft and leaking oil like mad. Rather be riding my R, but still had fun.

The weather in Glamis is usually real nice in January. The second and third day we were there was nearly 70 degrees.

I'd rather have the diverse seasons & the changes during the year than sand ,sand & more sand all year round ...I know I would get real boared of SAND all the time

huh? what are you talkin about 2r's? unless you want a heat stroke, i woulndnt recommend going year round... the majority of people go to the river/lake during the spring/summer out here. and we have alot more than sand out here to ride on. and yes, our seasons change, from a little cold, to a little hot(very hot in certain spots) :p . we get rain sometimes when its a little cold. thats diverse enough for me

Pesonally, I love sand riding, especially since I started visiting several different spots each year. Each place is very different. The Oregon dunes are like woods riding. There are tight trails all over through bushes and trees. You have to duck under tree branches while climbing in sand. Then Dumont has huge razorback dunes. Very tall hill climbs and awesome bowls. Then Glamis is a huge area. You can ride over 25 miles in one direction if you have the gas to get back. I think it is about a 5 mile x 25 mile long strip of dunes. I only make it to each one, once a year so I don't get sick of them.

dont get it. why would you go to the sand if you're not gonna ride? of course it would be boring to just have a bunch of sand all year, and also a pain in the ass.

I didn't mention Pismo because it stinks in comparison to the other three that I mentioned. It's small crowded and rough. Growing up, pismo was the only place that I went riding. My parents have a place there so we ride there about 2 or 3 times a year. I also went to college at Cal Poly SLO and lived in shell beach while in College. It was great when I got out of school early on a week day and went to the dunes for the afternoon. I would have the whole beach to myself. Problem was that I didn't have many people to ride with. I guess I'm just spoiled because Pismo is so close and conveniant.

2R's is just sad that his 250r is frozen to the floor of his tool shed while the westcoasters are shreddin all year round, and about the sand, sand, and more sand....i'll take it all year round. you can't beat the freedom of the wide open dunes. we've got woods, desert, and all that...but we choose to hit the sand because it's the best riding period. not to mention the sickest and i mean sickest toys are out at glamis. don't believe me...ask anyone whose ridden there on a big weekend. it's a hot rod show for offroad!!!

anyways 2R's, have fun shovelin your sidewalks and keepin your igloo heated...as for me I'll be at glamis the next two weekends sprayin sand and gettin tan!!!

I see that

...enjoy the sand !!!

I didn't see this post until today. I'm located in Tulare, CA. GLamis is 400 miles away from me. I only go down once a year on MLK Jr. weekend. I'd like to go more, but its hard to get away. We also go to Dumont once a year on thanksgiving weekend and Oregon once a year in August. In between the long distance trips, we go to Pismo beach about 3 times a year.
