I'm thinking of painting my Douglas .160 wheels gold since they are 13 years old and have corroded a little. Love that stock gold look but hate the soft thin aluminum of my stockers that have been set aside. What paint is best and closest to stock color? What should I use to prep them? I also wouldn't mind painting my stock a-arms the same color since my bike was ridden in tall grass a lot in a past life which led to the paint getting rubbed off of the bottom of them.

The stock rims are anodized, not painted. It would be tough to find a paint that matches anodizing.

Powder-coat or anodize them. I hate painting aluminum.....IMO or Stainless steel....
